Katsuhito Ishii’s MY DARLING OF THE MOUNTAINS (YAMA NO ANATA) Coming To DVD!

Good news for Katsuhito Ishii fans with word that the upcoming Japanese DVD release of the latest film from the director of Taste of Tea and Funky Forest will include English subtitles for his fans around the globe. A remake of a classic Japanese film about two blind masseurs this is Ishii in his quiet mode and features a non-stop stream of gorgeous images. It’s coming in two editions - a one disc standard and three disc limited - and you can check a photo of what looks to be a suitably gorgeous limited edition package over at Nippon Cinema.

AIE! Thanks for the upheading! Been waiting for this for some time now, and since I have neither the patience nor time to be going through the internet for news about what is truly great I humbly thank twitch! I had a question but I forgot it, but regardless it seems this would be the time to make a pre-order. English subs makes me wanna loooose controool

I love the austere cinematography of this piece. The 3 disc edition sounds like a very good idea.
