    Dang.  No, THE ROAD!

Lots of nice ones in there though.  Public Enemy #1 is a Gala?  oi!

Kind of expected the final list to be more...dramatic.  No THE ROAD, no TOKYO!, no PONYO, no Lucretia Martel...the list continues.  Plus, the Visions program has almost half what it had in previous years.

Still, it’s a great list overall.

The VISIONS programme is split because they introduced VANGUARD, the line between those two programmes is fuzzy at best though.

The joy is always in the discovery of out-of-the-blue stuff, for me anyway.

Oh, and a reminder for everyone that doesn’t know:  the Elgin (aka the Visa Screening Room) is NOT part of the ticket lottery this year.  Those are full-price all the way.  That means that the first screenings of CHE, THE WRESTLER, MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA, GHOST TOWN, APPALOOSA,INJU, ROCKNROLLA, ZACK AND MIRI,BLINDNES, etc. are out for those of us who forked over the money for regular passes.  In some cases, the second screenings as well.  And some of the Gala’s second screenings (including THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WEIRD).  Just thought everyone should know…

    Kurt,

Last year Visions had 17 films.  This year it’s down to nine, less than Vanguard (which also had more last year).  And since the out-of-the-blue stuff was often IN Visions, lowering the number means less options, I suppose.

Most of the big popular screenings are not part of the ticket lottery? That seems to defeat the purpose of the lottery itself. When do tickets officialy go on sale for the people that want singles and will wait tirelessly at their computer waiting for it to activate?
