Time To Warm Up The Ol' Credit Card ... We're Goin' Shopping ...

hustle.jpgOkay ... the observant will note that I killed the previous post about Kung Fu Hustle being up for pre-order at CD WOW. Why? Because I'm a whore, that's why. YesAsia's just added all three versions of Steven Chow's latest opus for decent prices and since we've got an affiliate account there and the only income this site generates is from affiliate links, here they are:

The stripped naked, but nonetheless alluring edition.

The slightly fancier edition.

The 'good lord, I need to change my pants' edition. That'd be it in the picture above.

But wait! That's not all! There's more good stuff! Koi No Mon, the Ryuhei Matsuda (of Blue Spring and Nine Souls fame) starring flick revolving around manga otaku and featuring cameos from Takashi Miike, Shinya Tsukamoto and Hideaki Anno, among others, has also been announed for an April release in both standard and excessive editions and, yes, it is english subtitled. Midnight Eye's review is here.

And for the more budget conscious, Andy Lau star vehicle A World Without Thieves is also coming down the runway ... nummy ...

Is it just me or are there no prices listed?

Interesting, I think there were prices there yesterday when I looked but they're gone now.

Thanks for reminding about koi no mon! I had totally forgotten about that film. Yet again we're in a situation where there's too much to buy and too little cash for it all.. tough choices.

Even Starmax has a LE of HoFD coming up now: http://www.dvdfromkorea.com/shop/p_detail.asp?idx=1809&genre=Action/Adventure
Here's to hoping the picture quality isn't as good as in the EDKO LE or I'll have to think about getting this as well ;)

What is the price for the super deluxe set then?

» Posted by Swarez at January 26, 2005 07:38 AM

I think it was somewhere between $60-$70, strange that either the price or the whole product has disappeared from many retailers.

Checked around and sensasian.com seems to have it at that price but now that I think about it the yesasia.com price was probably higher after all. Better to wait and see what the real price is when more sites put it up again.

That's weird ... they were accepting orders when I linked to them yesterday ... hopefully this isn't a sign that the release is being delayed or that they're being blocked from selling it outside Hong Kong ...

Whoa.. the prices are up now but the most limited edition is not available anymore. Must have been one helluva demand for the box if it sold out already..

» Posted by Fabool at January 26, 2005 04:38 PM

They only made one or two thousand total, which wouldn't go that far with worldwide demand ... They probably only gave each retailer a limited number, but if you check around I'll bet there's still a site or two that's got 'em ...
