American Ong Bak Trailer Online

ongbak2.jpgThe American trailer for Ong Bak has just turned up on the Apple site here. It's far from the best trailer out there for the film, but it does mean that Magnolia is now fairly seriously committed to their current release date of February 2005 ... there's a fighting chance that I'll be seeing Tom Yum Goong - Tony Jaa's next film - on DVD before Ong Bak hits the big screen here in Toronto, but I'm still pretty excited for the chance to see this thing properly projected ...

I wonder if we will still have the character named 'Dirty Balls' in the North American release. Haven't finished watching the whole film yet. Looking forward to it, though.

Too busy having sex, I suppose. I gues this is what happens when you give a guy a movie as a wedding present ...

I'm just happy there's no freakin' "Kung Fu Fighting"...

Here's a longer version that really trumpets Tony Jaa's place in the martial artist pantheon.

Tom Yum Goong won't be out in Thailand until August, so you're not likely to get a DVD of it anytime soon.

I'm going to try to get my friends gathered to see Ong Bak this weekend in Chicago. It's playing in one theatre. ONE.

hmmm, i thought they were giving it a wider release than that...as stated in another post...They are promoting the crap out of the film up here in Canada.

I've been hosting screenings in my basement theatre for approximately a year now, and that is the only film where I got requests for a second screening as so many people were interested.

Just gave the weekly rag The Eye a quick glance and quickly counted 11 theatres in the GTA that will have it.

I have to do this, only b/c crazybee has a sense of humor though.

Speaking of Eye...It pisses me off that they publish the movie listings in their magazine that comes out on thrusday, but don't put them online until friday morning. (I don't know of any place in Mississauga off the top of my head where I can get a copy EYE).

Hard to plan for releases the night before if you can't look at the listings...

I appreciate tolerance for my ranting, as nobody probably really cares about my trivial pet peeves.

11 theatres is pretty good...hope it plays at the AMC24 across from my work.
