Three Extremes : Dumplings. DVD in HK. End of Sept '04
I must admit I didnt expect it to come this soon but Fruit Chan's contribution to Three Extremes gets its own Hong Kong DVD release at the end of September, coming just in time for me to preorder it along with Takashi Miikes "One Missed Call".
Again, you can preorder it from reputable HK sites like DDDHouse.com. It has English Subtitles, 5.1 and DTS and works out at $80HK (about $10 USD / £6).
Also listed at Yesasia.com ($11.99) and Cd-wow.com (£7.99)
Each of the short films that make up the Three Extreme anthology - Takashi Miike and Chan Wook Park also contribute - were originally shot as full length features and then edited down for the anthology. This DVD of "Dumplings" is the extended 91 minute version of that part.

so with this release coming out, does that mean that the park and miike segments will each get their own separate releases in full-length form on dvd as well? i haven't heard about any announcements...anyone have any info?

All three of the films from the original Three anthology did, but they disappeared pretty quickly ... we'll be watching ...

someone mentioned on a forum tonight that the chan wook park segment may get its full version released soon... things is i am sure they all must be funded from the same source so why not all 3 on hk dvds , 3 korean dvds and 3 japanese dvds in an expensive boxset with t-shirt and minature piano in carboard board shaped like a dumpling?...
the anthology version is apparently out in HK at the end of january...
this disc, dumplings, seems to come in a lush red slipcase too... see the larger pics of the cover and slipcase at asiandvdguide.com ...
