Kung Fu Hustle sequel approved!

I've been catching up on my sleep for the past couple days since TIFF ended so I'm admittedly a bit behind on this bit of news. If you frequent martial arts sites like we do then you probably already know this. If you don't and you only come to twitchfilm.net as your only source of movie info then Lord bless you. It looks like we're going to get a sequel to Kung Fu Hustle...

Given the success of the September 14th viewing at the Toronto International Film Festival and what one could only imagine might have been another successful viewing on the 16th [boo-urns] Sony appears to be ready to put up US$ 12 million for the next installment. Word is, Steven Chow has been working on a number of screenplays and this sequel was one of them.
