Tekkon Kinkreet USA DVD & Blu-Ray for Pre-Order; due September 25th 2007.

tekkon.jpgWhilst reactions to the actual content seem varied, and I suspected they might given this is an adaptation of a Manga, there's always a positive sign to be taken from something that splits opinion, and there's always a wider spread of opinion when more people are able to see something that's maybe a relatively restricted audience as it is. Not too concerned about the possible reaction I might have now I can confirm a retail opportunity to take in this film with English Subtitles.

Following a small run in Cinemas (happening right about now in America, somewhere), and following a lovely unsubbed Japanese release, we can say we're one step up - we get Blu-Ray! So, take this chance to see a fine piece of animation from perhaps one of the finest studios that's ever worked in the medium, catch up with a film we'll always go out of our way to recommend in Mind Game on it's R2 Japanese DVD releases with English Subtitles, and count the days until you get to see Tekkon Kinkreet in 1080p starting now... here's to the chances of both Genius Party movies also.

I recently watched a couple episodes of Kemonozume online just to see what it was about. Its pretty cool and I hope it gets a region 1 release.

I actually just watched this at the new Landmark theatre the other night. I enjoyed it MUCH more than I thought I would, especially since I REALLY didn't like Mind Game and could barely tolerate Kemonzume.

Probably one of the most touching films I've seen in some time, although there were some seriously brutal segments in the film. The music by PLAID was another standout that really elevated the film to something special.
