Here's some good news for Kiyoshi Kurosawa fans ... a Malaysian DVD of his Loft released a little while back and there has been confusion since then as to whether or not this edition contained English subtitles. If so, it would be the first subtitled release to appear anywhere, but there were conflicting reports on different sites with even the producer seeming to indicate that English subtitles were not included. Well, I've just received a copy of my own and while it's still all nicely shrink wrapped, the note is right there plain as day on the back cover art. Subtitles are included.
Now, all accounts are that Loft is a deeply flawed film but it's one that fans have been hungry for nonetheless and now it's available. Expect a detailed review of the film and DVD to appear over the weekend, in the meantime check the links below ...

Is it anamorphic? I'm going to order this ASAP.
best news i've heard in a week or so... ordering now.
This could be great news!
Looking forward to your review of this.
Crap, not anamorphic and not even letterboxed. Popped it in briefly last night and it's pan and scan ...
Doh. Eh, still glad I ordered.
That's a shame the video is P&S. How are the subtitles? A review would still be nice if you can do one.
