Chow Yun-Fat won't return to John Woo's Battle of Red Cliff

(Posted In Action Asia Drama Film News )

CYF-POTC3.jpgA few months ago, we reported the story of Chow Yun-Fat's sudden departure from John Woo's Battle of Red Cliff and following the much-publicize debacle, Chow has invertedly agree to rejoin the cast for a cameo role. Guess what, folks? According to long time John Woo producer Terence Chang in an e-mail to the The Associated Press, Chow will not be in the film after all.

"Chow is definitely out. His dropping out of our film caused us tremendous scheduling problems ... If he rejoins us, I am afraid he might create ill feelings among all the crew and all the other main actors," Chang said.

Its really a shame to see it had come to this. Chow supposedly have a good relationship with John which leads me to wonder what is going on behind closed door.

When Egos Collide! That's what's going on here. You know, there's a reason they haven't worked together since HARDBOILED.

John Woo and Chow Yun Fat are both involved in Stranglehold, the video game 'sequel' to Hard Boiled, but I doubt they had to do their work together. In the behind the scenes videos, John Woo has meetings with the game makers while Chow Yun Fat does voice over in the recording studio. I still hope they'll work together again for a film someday.
