Citaya Collectables Chirashi, Cinema Programs & Film Magazines Sale...

(Posted In Asia Random Geek Talk )

citayasale.jpegIt's been a couple of years or so since Ian Trigg last offered a celebratory discount for his 40th Birthday. Now, although he's not pretending he hasn't aged any more since then - he admits as much, quite freely - he is offering another opportunity for those who take advantage of such services and products, for a massive 42% off the price of Chirashi, 25% off Cinema Programs and Magazines directly sourced, packaged and shipped from within Japan. Yes, this is a plug for a friend, I admit as much, but it's also a plug for a great service for those outside of Japan with an interest in their films (or just Japanese design) to save some cash and buy some nice stuff... this runs only between June 25th and the July 2nd 2007.

Now, for those that want a little clarification, Chirashi are leaflets (or flyers) that can be found strewn inside magazines and at Cinemas. Given the nature of how films come and go very rapidly, they've also found their own niche of collectors, and they often become harder to find and more expensive to buy as time goes by - it's great that they often directly represent the poster artwork for a film, though they're more affordable initially, and, particularly important for collecting, they're much more storable because of their size. Typically, a chirashi would be classed as JB5 - that's 182 x 257 mm - but there's always variation to be found, with many films often having different designs and sizes issued long in advance of the Cinema release, and there's often some very nice use of paper, with montages of pictures accompanied by various information on the reverse sides too.

The difference with a service that sells Chirashi on is that they're sourced and handled in such a ways as to maintain their condition, there's always an ability to find the very rare and very latest side-by-side, and they're sent through the post in solid sleeves, handled with gloved fingers too... I personally have a large(ish) collection of Chirashi for Takashi Miike films, but I've also picked up many posters, and they're fantastic to frame for display - it's not cheap to frame the posters, and the sleeves to store those cost me a fortune. You might also want to take advantage of the 25% Citaya are offering off Cinema Programs (yes, I have many of these too) which are often very beautifully produced presentations with masses of pictures inside, and the 25% off Film Magazines too. Hurry though, because remember, this runs only between June 25th and the July 2nd 2007.

Just placed my 8th or so order with Ian yesterday! A lot of out of stock material was added back in. Just be sure to email requests if something is listed out of stock .. as he's really pushing a solid sale.

So far, each order has been handled above expectations. ..and he actually personally responds to all questions very quickly. Nothing but props for his service!!

BTW - not that it matters, but I have never met Ian personally nor do I have any shared business interests. I'm just one happy consumer and he's my goto site when I'm in the market ...
