The Worldwide Short Film Festival Comes To A Close ...

(Posted In Random Festival News )

WWsFF.jpgSigh. This year's edition of the Worldwide Short Film Festival has come to a close and while the seemingly never ending renovations at my house meant that I didn't get to see as much as I would've liked - the trade off is that my kitchen is now a pleasing shade of green - I caught my fair share and went away impressed.

The full slate of award winners has been announced, and is linked below, but the big name in there for me is Madame Tutli-Putli winning as best animated short. Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski's film also just picked up a major award at Cannes, they've been approached to do the introductory short for Spike Jonez' Where The Wild Things Are (though that's not carved in stone just yet), and there are a LOT of rumblings that there's an Oscar nomination in this film's future.

Check the Madame Tutli-Putli Website here.
