Godzilla Coming Out of Retirement? In 3D?

godzilladvd.jpgNow, this has been rumored for a long time so I'm taking this with a grain of salt until cameras actually start rolling but it's looking as though the supposed retirement of the Godzilla franchise following Ryuhei Kitamura's Godzilla: Final Wars ... and this time it's 3D.

The production on this one will be a blend of US and Japanese talent and it'll be an English language production. They also state that the creature effects will be a blend of motion capture and CGI technology so I'm not expecting the classic man in suit for this one. They're aiming to roll cameras in February.

For the record, since it's not being done by Toho, it's not technically the big-G coming out of retirement.

Actually if you look at the last line of the press release it says, "Casting for this English language film.."
