Rue Morgue Magazine founder Rodrigo Gudino turned a lot of heads with his debut short film, The Eyes of Edward James and he is about to unveil his sophomore effort, The Demonology of Desire, at the upcoming Worldwide Short Film Festival here in Toronto. We're very pleased to be hosting the trailer for the new short here at Twitch and, man, Gudino's showing us something new here. Eyes was a more than auspicious beginning and this looks to be far, far more ambitious.

New Rue Morgue film to premiere at
2007 Worldwide Short Film Festival
Toronto, CANADA – Rue Morgue Cinema follows up its award-winning flagship film The Eyes of Edward James which premiered at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival with a new entry THE DEMONOLOGY OF DESIRE, an Official Selection of the 2007 CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival (June 12-17, Toronto). The film is screening as part of the WWSF’s Midnight Mania series on Friday June 15 at midnight at the Cumberland 4 Cinemas (159 Cumberland Street, Toronto).
“I am really honoured and thrilled,” commented writer/director Rodrigo Gudiño, Rue Morgue’s publisher and founding editor. “THE DEMONOLOGY OF DESIRE is a significant departure from my previous movie and I hope it speaks to a wide audience of not just genre fans, but fans of subversive cinema.”
The 22-minute film is one of 265 shorts chosen from 3100+ submissions at this year’s WSFF and marks Gudiño’s second directorial outing.
THE DEMONOLOGY OF DESIRE tells the story of Ramona, a unique girl with a strange idea of what love is. One night before going to bed, Ramona makes a powerful wish, a wish that is seemingly answered the next day by Eric, a young boy who has no idea the dark, fantastical depths that love can go. Equal parts fatal fable, romantic thriller and artcore horror, THE DEMONOLOGY OF DESIRE is a love story... with a caustic heart.
“I wanted to be free to make a nasty horror film that was also thematically and symbolically rich,” said Gudiño, “and I hope I have achieved that with this darkly eccentric film.”
The film stars Bianca Rusu (Haunted) and newcomers Tudor Popleanu and Jewelia Fisico, and features cinematography by Derek Rogers c.s.c (Cube, Resident Evil: Apocalypse) and special make-up effects by Gaslight Studio (300, Land of the Dead, Saw III). THE DEMONOLOGY OF DESIRE is produced by Marco Pecota (Pink, The Eyes of Edward James) and co-produced by Brenton Bentz (Pink, Road Scholars).

Which is not nearly as high quality as the one we're hosting here.
I have watched the trailer for "The Demonology of Desire" several times and find myself quite facinated with the idea of this girl wishing for something that she really has no idea or concept of. It seems disturbing and entertaining at the same time. I can't wait to see it. My question is this, when does it get released? Does it get released to theaters as a limited run or does it just released onto DVD. I would like to know information on this becasue I am quite taken with this movie.
Thank you very Much
