Cast Revealed For Tetsuya Nakashima's Pako and the Magical Picture Book

Tetsuya Nakashima is a great favorite around these parts, a man who jumped into our collective consciousness thanks to his work on Kamikaze Girls and Memories of Matsuko, both of which generated some deserved comparisons to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's more inventive moments. Well, Nakashima is currently at work on a new fantasy oriented picture titled Pako and the Magical Picture Book and the folks at Tokyo Graph have just posted full cast details. In the lead is Canadian-Japanese child model Ayaka Wilson, with Koji Yakusho (pictured to the left in Kurosawa's Retribution), Anna Tsuchiya, Sadao Abe and Satoshi Tsumabuki in the support roles. The cast and director are certainly in place to do some fun stuff - I love Yakusho in his less serious mode - so time will tell if the script is up to snuff ...
