Apparently The Only Good Star Wars These Days Is Animated Star Wars

starwarscgi.jpgI'm sure the fan-boys have been all over this since it first appeared yesterday but for the interested but less fanatical, here it is: the first teaser trailer for the new, animated Star Wars television series has appeared online. I think I'd have preferred it if they left the whole thing under the care of Genndy Tartakovsky who did brilliant work on the limited run Clone Wars shorts but minor misgivings aside, this looks pretty good.

They haven't said yet. Hopefully HBO. Maybe they could get the writers from Deadwood and have Amidala get drunk and scream "Cocksucker" a lot. I'd watch that.

Looks like they said "let's take all these vehicles and characters that George loves from the prequels and throw them in scenes from the original trilogy that the people love".

That said, I now have a boner shooting a rainbow over the entire city of Los Angeles...so I guess their plan worked.

Further proof that Lucas is completely devoid of a new idea. Only his crushing hand can make a cartoon look completely boring.
