Just imagine the possibilities - Gaiman and del Toro?

(Posted In Rumors )

Gaiman-del-Toro.jpgFirst, read.

"There seems to be an awful lot of travel in my future, now that I just want to stay home and walk the dog and write. Two college graduations (Holly's this weekend, Mike's next weekend) over the next two weeks, then the UK STARDUST trip. In addition to which, I had tea with the amazing Guillermo Del Toro yesterday in London, and... well, we'll see. But it may involve another plane journey." Neil Gaiman's journal May 14

Now, salivate.

Can you imagine? Neil Gaiman and Guillermo del Toro working together? Oh my. It's like Ivan Pavlov just rang the movie geek bell!!!

"OMG FTW!!!!!1111"

That's about all the articulacy I can muster in reaction to this. My head is spinning, and my heart all a-flutter!

I imagine this duo doing Anansi Boys very nicely together.

But maybe this will be the final, proper screen-telling of Neverwhere?

ANYthing these two do will be amazing, though.

Jeez, way to read too much into two creative folks having a cup of tea together.

It's not so much them drinking tea, but lately I've been very impressed with Guillermo del Toro's sense of humor and literacy, like I've been for years with Neil Gaiman...

Neil might be one of the nicest people in the business but for him to casually call Guillermo "amazing" and hint at the possibility of a future cooperation are surely, well... good omens!

Then again, maybe all he meant was dinner, or a drinking game. Far as I know they like both.

I'm not holding my breath until there's at least a script written. I just hope if they do work together that they write something original. Neverwhere is fine the way it is IMHO. These two geniuses haved the cretive wits between them to do anything. I very much hope it's not something we've already been introduced too.
