In her own words, Catherine Breillat's UNE VIELLE MAÎTRESSE is, “...the parable of an affair that seems to be over and whose force is underestimated because it is thought to have blown itself out”. It is in competition section of 2007 Cannes Film Festival. "Une Vielle Maitresse", a movie that is from two controversial filmmakers: Catherine Breillat and Asia Argento.
Translated from the FlachFilm site - 50 years after Choderlos de Laclos, the Marchioness of Flers, decides to marry his/her small daughter, floret of the French aristocracy, with Ryno de Marigny, a kind of Valmont romantic. But what everyone is unaware of it is that this Gift Juan, unrepentant, has been for 10 years the lover and the prey of a scandalous courtesan, girl of a duchess and a bullfighter.

Seems scandalous enough, I can't wait to see it. Speaking of Cannes, this years official competition is fucking amazing.
I liked the trailer. It looks like a good movie.
It certainly looks like it might be more watchable than ANATOMY OF HELL.
Anatomy was such a let down! Her films are, I agree, boring, pretentious, except Fat Girl which is just amazing. But there is a lot of truth to Breillat's films, and for that reason they only appeal to a SMALL audience willing to sit through them (minus the audience wanting hot shots of dongs). But Anatomy... such a mess. I think she can only go up after that, honestly.
