Will 'Speed Racer' be 'Rain'ed out?

(Posted In Film News )

Rain-Spaniel.jpgWe all get messages in our inboxes alerting us of comments made on our posts. At least a couple times a week I get e-mails about a post I made AGES ago [August 11, 2005!!!] about Korean popstar Rain/Bi NOT being cast in Jackie Chan's Rob-B-Hood. I could turn off the comments on that post but the pre-teen squeals of love and devotion to this Korean hunk lift my spirits in an odd and twisted sort of way.

Plug your ears folks. You're about to hear the collective squeal of pre-pubescent ecstasy ring through to the heavens. We now know which film Rain/Bi will make his western debut in... ... wait for it... ... [windows shatter, dogs start barking, car alarms rage through the night.]

Brendon over at FilmIck is the harbinger of this news that has set young Koreans girls hearts a flutter. Rain/Bi is reportedly set to sign on with the Wachowskis on their film Speed Racer, based on the popular Japanese Manga/Anime.

Nothing less should be expected from the most influential person of the year.

I like Rain. I'm not expecting too much from him in this movie though because foreign actors/actresses in US movies tend to not get very much screen time. It'll be good to see him in the movie though.

Stephen Colbert will not be pleased.

There was a Time online poll for most influential person or something and Rain was first, Colbert was second. And of course Colbert is milking it for all it is worth.

I don't know about you all, but every time I see the words "Speed Racer" and "the Wachowski brothers" together I laugh and laugh and laugh. Adding in Rain just makes for more laughs. I hope he's Racer X. And Colbert is Chim Chim.

Speed Racer will be a great test for the directors. Essentially, they have to turn "campy" into "cool." Let's see if it can be done. It will either be really cool or really lame.

Rain is the reason I will go see this movie, I hear he has a important role that "holds the key to the movie;
Rain will manage the flow of the movie between the two main parts."

HOLLYWOOD has always put a ceiling in the industry to stop ASIAN MALE ACTORS from rising to the top. We are always portrayed as geek, kung-fu fighters or funny guys with accents.

Well, that's quickly changing -- as more and more ASIAN MEN are stepping-up and becoming Alpha Males (Sexy, Confident, Talented, Rich, Educated, Fit, Smooth)

Because Asian comprise 50% of the world's population, America has been afraid and reluctant to see ASIAN MEN appear sexy, attractive and dominant on-screen.

They're fearful that once we truly recognize our value in America, we would start taking over their women, start forming more companies, start penetrating the movie and music industry -- and their lack of talent would show.

GO ASIAN-AMERICAN MEN GO !!!
Let no one stop you from reaching your dreams.

SHow the world that we are no longer the stereotyped image they have seen for decades.

The MODERN ASIAN MAN in AMERICA is sexy, rich, attractive, seductive, talented, intelligent and highy-confident and competitive.

JOIN THAT GROUP that's quickly growing strong.

IT'S GONNA RAIN !!!
