It may just be in New York City at the moment, but both of Johnnie To's Election films start screening tomorrow, April 25th, at the Film Forum. The first Election is only screening once per day during the afternoon, but there are multiple chances to catch Triad Election (aka Election 2). Election/Triad Election is running for two weeks. If the film does well in this limited capacity, possible expansion outside of the Big Apple would be nice - and hopefully as a pair. Having caught both films back-to-back on the big screen, I can more than vouch that that is the way to experience them. That is as one long crime saga.
Coming Soon also notes that Johnnie To's Exiled is getting a theatrical release from Magnolia in June. Exiled is To's ode to both the Spaghetti Western and to his own The Mission and is certainly one of the most exquisitely entertaining movies of recent times.

I recently saw Exiled at the Phila Film Fest & I really enjoyed. Seeing The Mission cast back together was great & the action is incredible. I'd pay to see it again in theaters.
