Marché du Film: Matt Flynn's HACK!

Distribution rights for Matt Flynn's Hack! are to be offered for sale by American World Pictures (AWP) at this year's Marché du Film in Cannes, which runs from May 16th to 26th.

As was reported here on Twitch back on November 15th of last year, the screenplay for Hack! was written by Flynn. The movie apparently stars Danica McKellar as Emily Longley, Gabrielle Richens as Sylvia Janowitz, Adrienne Frantz as Maddy Roth, Jay Kenneth Johnson as Johnny Vital, Travis Schuldt as Tim Rockston, Justin Chon as Ricky Kim, Won-G as Q, Sean Kanan as Vincent King, Juliet Landau as Mary Shelley King, Tony Burton as Sheriff Stoker, Lochlyn Munro as Sheriff Radley, Burt Young as JT Bates, William Forsythe as Willy, Mike Wittlin as Mr. Argento, and Kane Hodder as Mr. Carpenter.

Here's a description of Hack! from the production: "A group of students from diverse backgrounds venture to a desolate island to study the great outdoors. Coordinated by Mr. Argento - the biology teacher - and Emily Longley - a TA at the university - they take off to Boris Island, located in the bay just a few miles from the city. ¶ The nineteen-year-olds looking for "extra credit" include: Johnny Vital, a thoughtful, handsome romantic who falls for Emily, the 'good girl' in glasses; Tim Rockston, a popular jock always carrying his trademark football; Maddy Roth, a wild and colorfully-tattooed gothic chick; Ricky Kim, a flamboyant 'A' student; Q, a hip black guy from the hood; and Sylvia Janowitz, a well-endowed foreign exchange student. ¶ After arriving, the young adults are greeted by caretakers Vincent King and his wife Mary Shelly, who are total film buffs. Mary is an aspiring filmmaker, and has a habit of videotaping everyone - and doing so for a very secret reason. It's discovered that Vincent and Mary Shelly are making a 'Reality Horror Movie', and find themselves with the perfect film cast... and victims. ¶ JT, the crusty old sea captain of the 'Orca', brings the kids to the island and is summoned back there when Mr. Argento needs to return to retrieve the microscope he forgot. Willy, the creepy monster-like poacher, spies on the students, and has issues of his own. Sherrif Stoker and his partner Sherrif Radley investigate, and one of them unfortunately finds himself starring in the King's homemade 'snuff' film. ¶ With many unexpected twists and turns, Hack! has dialogue and situations paralleling classics as well as B-horror movies. With obscure film tributes such as Nightmare Castle, Mondo Cane, and Porcile to mainstreamers like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Hellraiser, Saw, and others, Hack! finds the students scrambling for their lives, and wondering 'Who will be the next victim?'"
