Marché du Film: Peter Burger's THE TATTOOIST

Distribution rights for Peter Burger's The Tattooist are to be offered for sale by the New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) at this year's Marché du Film in Cannes, which runs from May 16th to 26th.

As was previously reported here on Twitch, the screenplay for The Tattooist was written by Jonathan King and Matthew Grainger, based on an idea by Vela Manusaute. The movie's cast apparently includes Jason Behr, Mia Blake, David Fane, Robbie Magasiva, Caroline Cheong, Michael Hurst, Pip Hall, Aleni Tufuga, Nathaniel Lees, Stuart Devenie, and Andy Wong.

Here's a description of The Tattooist from the production: "The Tattooist is a supernatural thriller in which American tattoo artist Jake Sawyer (Behr) is a global wanderer who explores ethnic themes in his designs. He discovers the ancient tradition of Samoan tatau and is taken on a devastating journey into Pacific mysticism."
