It's quite hard to overstate the popularity of Korean martial arts period drama Jumong. This is a show that regularly drew better than 40% of the Korean viewing audience with the final episode drawing more than 50% of viewers - a shocking number - and proved so enormously successful that producers actually altered the story arc mid stream to further expand the story and extend its run. Posts that we made about the show nearly a year ago are still among the most commented on here at Twitch. And not only is it incredibly popular it is also, by all accounts, shockingly good - arguably one of the best Korean television productions ever. And it's coming to Region One DVD in April.
YA Entertainment releases the first of their planned four volumes on April 24th. Spanning 7 DVDs this set includes twenty episodes. Bonus features have not yet been announced but YA Releases to date have featured strong transfers, excellent subtitles and a good selection of features.

If its anything like "Emperor of the Sea", i will cry with happines...
Damn, ive watched only first 25 eps of "Emperor". This is a good reason to go back to it.
i've watched this a couple times on satellite tv when it was playing at my local korean restaurant. it's good stuff.
I can't wait to see Jumong! We have seen several korean historical dramas. Song il gook in EOTS was just great as Yon Moon. A really great love/action story. There are several that people should watch:
Immortal Admiral Yi Soon Shin, Emperor of the Sea, and Dae Jang Geum just to name a few. Currently we're following Dae Jo Young on PBS locally and this one has us hooked as well!!
