Three big budget blockbustery type genre movies have glossy (and busy) new trailers available.
First, we recently posted to an unofficial trailer for Matthew Vaughn's film version of Neil Gaiman's novel Stardust. Yahoo has just put out the official trailer. Gone is the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. The special effects (although still a bit flat) are much improved as well. There is more Peter O'Toole, Ricky Gervais and Michelle Pfeiffer in there as well.
Second, there are lots of posts about Timur Bekmambetov's sequel to The Night Watch, The Day Watch, in the Twitch Archives. Many of the regular readers probably own the subtitled Russian DVD release of the movie (which is a very fine DVD) already. But it is worth mentioning how well Fox Searchlight has put together this flashy trailer for the film they are going to release theatrically in June. It is in huge glorious HD Quicktime it looks grand.
Also making an appearance today is the last trailer for Spider Man 3 and it is a beast of a download. Beware of spoilers in that trailer, but it is easily the best (and most coherent) trailer released for the film.

I've been looking forward to the adaptation of Stardust for a long time now, but both trailers I've seen leave me with a sinking feeling in my stomach. It looks like they've significantly altered the storyline, thrown in a few extra characters, and upped the wacky/slapstick comedy quotient -- none of which inspire much confidence in me.
Looks like Sandman won't as big part of the story as it first looked like. Looks pretty sweet to me.
But...flying pirates!
And with Sandman I'm of course refering to Spiderman, not Neil Gaimans character.
