Why We Love Joseph Gordon-Levitt

(Posted In Action Random Festival News Thriller Trailer Alert USA and Canada )

TheLookOut.jpgWe are certainly not the first people to be impressed by the terrific one-two punch where Joseph Gordon-Levitt burned up the screen, namely Mysterious Skin and Brick. We have been a bit lax in mentioning a certain Levitt starring glossy thriller that has been getting terrific reviews and may very well be this years Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. And for that we apologize.

The Lookout, to these eyes, appears to be a stylistic and thematic blend The Usual Suspects, Memento and El Aura. Not bad company - if the The Lookout can come out from the tall shadows cast by those films. You probably caught the trailer in front of 300 or Zodiac if you've been at the multiplex lately and Apple has had it posted for a while, but hey, just wanted to let folks know that we are hoping for the lad to come through with this one. He's got skills. Besides, I love the smell of neo-noir in the evening.

Looks wicked. It's got the crazy chick from "Wedding Crashers" as well. JGL just keeps climbing those rungs doesn't he?

This looks pretty good, but has the potential to be really bad. Although using the script writer from "Out of Sight" and "Get Shorty" as the trailer says, it can't be all bad.

I've read a couple of reviews so far that say it's very good and after BRICK I'm interested to see what he does next.

Been on top of this what feels like forever. Doesn't smack of his natty indie vibe really but I'm still interested. He's in some flick alongside Mickey Rourke later this year, which should also pique my interest.
