The month of March is considered an off-peak season for the Korean film industry. Among the 34 films which have been or are about to be released this month, only four are Korean. And among the foreign films, many are Japanese. "Hula Girls" was released March 1st and "The Mamiya Brothers" and "Snowy Love Fallin' in Spring" have both been in theatres since March 8th. "Christmas in August," a Japanese remake of a Korean movie of the same title and which came out one week ago, has many people talking about it. Hollywood films like "Illusionist," "300" and "The Painted Veil" already hit screens and "The Number 23," Jim Carrey's first horror film, will arrive in Korea March 22nd. For those interested in this year's Oscars, "The Last King of Scotland" with Forest Whitaker, who took the Oscar for Best Actor, has been in theatres since March 8th and beginning March 22nd, audiences will be able to watch "The Lives of Others," the German drama which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
