First Trailer for Jan Kounen's 99 Francs Online!

(Posted In Comedy Continental Europe and Russia Film News Trailer Alert )

99francs.jpgIt's taken better than a year and a half since the project was first announced but the long wait is over for fans of French maverick Jan Kounen: the first trailer for 99 Francs has arrived. Kounen's first picture since the financially disastrous Blueberry, 99 Francs is adapted from a French novel about an ad exec trying to get himself fired.

Graphic novel?! The version I read was text only...

I like Blueberry. A Lot.

it's a novel, not a graphic novel.

i'm not too sure about Jean Dujardin playing the lead character though. from what i've seen so far, he's doing nothing but a smarter version of "Brice de Nice"... oh well. let's wait til it comes out (09/07).

I'll second the BLUEBERRY recommendation. Worth noting that the mishandled US release goes by the awfully generic title RENEGADE. One would expect this from the Weinstein Company, but Sony's usually slightly better behaved than that.

Yep, BLUEBERRY was one of my favorite films of 2004. I even loved that instead of the standard shootout at the end, things are resolved by means of a mescaline trip. If advertised right this could've been an arthouse sensation in the US. Oh well.

Actually, the review of Blueberry aka Renegade may have been my first writer contribution to Twitch. Not sure on that one. Damn, I'm going to revisit it some time soon.

The trailer for 99 Francs leaves me a fair bit underwhelmed though...
