I will always have a certain attachment to Albert Pyun's Cyborg - for my money still one of the better moments of Van Damme's career - and so I am always curious to see what he'll be up to next. Well, what's next for Pyun is Left For Dead a film he describes as an "amped up spaghetti western / horror fever dream. El Topo meets NC-17 horror and madness."
That nasty image to the left is the first teaser poster for the film and there are a series of stills posted on the production company's official website. This one's shot in glorious Cinemascope and some of the images online are pretty astounding. If the script lives up to the look of this thing Pyun could have himself another cult hit on his hands.

Got a real soft spot for Nemesis myself. First film that I saw shoot a circle of bullets in the floor to escape by dropping thru the hole trick.
Oh Olivier Gruner where art thou now? (DTV pergatory with Tim Thomerson...When you cannot afford Christopher Lambert...Gruner is your man)
Oh, and the stills do look great.
Whooo! Albert Pyun is back! My all time favorite B-movie director. I went through a fase where I watched everything this man made along with stuff that uber action director/producer Richard Peppin made. Good times they were indeed. I even contacted the man who was very friendly in his emails. Then he sort of disappered after the Steven Seagal vehichle Ticker. Glad to see he's back with a vengence.
another shout out to Pyun from me
and to Cyborg!!
This looks good. doesn't look like El Topo though... so indeed let's wait how this turns out :-)
What ever happend to Pyun's flick INFECTION? That is the one he did where it is all done in one shot. He shot it in 2005 but it still hasn't been released. Sounds interesting.

Will--Lions Gate is still deciding how best to market the film. We heard from LGF last week that a decision on a release date will likely (hopefully) be made after SXSW is over. Thanks for your interest!--Albert
Wow, I just rented Mean Guns two weeks ago when I had an urge to see another Albert Pyun flick. I love Nemesis and The Sword and the Sorcerer (the tri-blade is classic) and had heard good things about Mean Guns, but I have to say it was disappointing even though it had a fairly cool premise. How this movie acts as a sequel to Mean Guns, though, I have no idea.
Cool. The man commented on this post. This calls for an interview I say.
