With his latest feature The Living and the Dead continuing to win fans on the international festival circuit it seems UK director Simon Rumley is on a bit of a hot streak. At the recently concluded Fantasporto Festival his latest short, The Handyman, made a successful appearance and it is one impressive piece of work. Starring Greta Scacchi and Hal Hartley regular Bill Sage the film is a beautifully shot, slow burning psychological thriller that just begs to be expanded out to feature length provided all the principals can be convinced to do it again - the chemistry in the short is fantastic and messing with any element of it would be a big mistake.
Rumley has added a page for the film to his official website and you can find a trailer there. It'd be nice to have something a little higher resolution but you'll get the picture.
