Nikolai Gogol's Taras Bulba Getting The Epic Treatment

Our thanks to Mihail from Kino Express for passing along word on a new epic blockbuster currently in the works in Russia. An adaptation of the novel by Nikolai Gogol, Taras Bulba is shooting now with a budget of fifteen million dollars which places it in the very top tier of Russian films in terms of budget. Here's what Mihail has to say:

It tells the story of an old Cossack, Taras Bulba, and his two sons, Andriy and Ostap. Taras’ sons studied at the Kiev Academy and came back home. The three men set out on a journey to Zaporizhian Sich located in modern-day Ukraine, where they join other Cossacks and go to war against the Polish nobles.
