International Trailer For One Last Dance, With Harvey Keitel and Francis Ng

(Posted In)

onelastdance.jpgI'm at a bit of a loss to explain why Singapore hit-man thriller One Last Dance has yet to really make an appearance on the international stage. The film boasts an all star international cast, has won awards at just about every festival it has appeared at, and yet it continues to slip beneath the radar. Perhaps that will change now that it has been picked up by international sales company Bleiberg Entertainment but while we wait I can point you to a new, downloadable Quicktime trailer prepared for the international market. Yummy.

WOW. This looks like a tasty dessert you have to wait for because you have to eat dinner first. But I want it now!

And was that Ti Lung?

We screened One Last Dance at the Indie Festival in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This movie is already out on DVD around here, under the name "O Jogo da Vingança" (or: The Revenge Game) by Focus Filmes. Max Makowski's direction oozes with style (the montage makes you feel like you're flipping through the pages of a comic book), the head-f**k script is tight, the dialogues are smart and Francis Ng makes up for one hell of a cool, silent hitman. Harvey Keitel's appearance is very brief, but he's got this one line of dialogue that's like fireworks in the universe of coolness (hint: it's not in english).

After that, I guess one could say I kinda liked it...

For the record, I really liked this too. I had been fortunate enough to read the script before seeing the film and I'd say they got it 90% right but it is still a very cool movie and well-deserving of some attention. It seems strange that distributors are holding off on it so much.
