A few days back we posted a link to the new artwork for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie that surfaced at EFM. We marvelled at its style. We gasped at its grandeur. And we were promptly asked to take it down. Apparently that version was a bit of a work in progress and the powers that be weren't quite ready to see it out in public just yet. This, however, is the final, official piece.
Click here to see it all big-like.
That remains a great poster of the sort we don't get much anymore. I assume the credit block is temporary - or is it?.
Nope, this is the final, official one sheet.
As much as I love the show I've read nothing but terrible reviews for this film. But let's hope it's all from people who don't get the show's humor.
So the poster's actually going out with "BLAH BLAH in association with BLAH BLAH BLAH present a BLAH BLAH production" on it? That might be funnier than the movie itself ends up being.
Looks that way ... they asked me to remove the link to the old version specifically so they could send the official, final version and this is what they sent ...
Hmm, I wonder who did the art. It looks a lot like Handré de Jager's game box parody art.

That looks epic.
Even if the movie is no good...which I highly doubt. They have earned my money with this awesome poster.
For the record, this poster artwork is credited to Ed Lee. The same person who did Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell album art (http://www.mytmouse.org/media/athfposter.jpg)
The artwork for Bat out of hell was done by Richard Corben.
Don't know if he did the other two albums as well.
I guess I was expecting a better poster than this is. It just doesn't jump out and stand alone - there's probably too much packed in and the dark colors make it a bit harder to distinguish the poster's elements.
Hope the movie is better. I'll be reviewing on my site if you wanna check it out:

the BLAH BLAH BLAH is funny, but not the real final version. This is a copy of the REAL final poster, from Adult Swim, and is posted in the background of Carl's MySpace page, which is myspace.com/therealcarl2. This is also from adultswim.com, so it's all pretty much authentic.
Also the largest graphic I have seen, better grab it before it's too late.

This is probably Frank Frazetta art. He was very influential for modern comic book artists like frank miller. Check out his stuff http://www.biggrnyu.com/frank_frazetta_thedestroyerbmp.jpg
Frank also did the artwork for the wolfmother cd.
HI! I work at a movie theatre and this is a final poster... ONE of them. Our theatre got 2 posters, an A and B version, but they both said "final one-sheet". The A had the credits and the B had the blahs. :)
god damn!, anyone know where we could get a print of that?
It's clearly a Meat Loaf parody (most notably Bat III, but the other Bats, as well). Ed Lee didn't do any of the Bat covers, though.
This poster is Boris Vallejo. I did see another comment that stated; "according to posterwire.com the poster for Aqua Teen Hunger Force was actually designed by Boris Vallejo".
If you look at the monster you can really see Boris' art style. If it is not Boris then it must be Julie Bell but this is most certainly not Frazetta. (Although he is also a great artist.)
Guys, with so much conjecture y'all got it pretty much wrong. The closest was the comment about the bat out of hell cover art. hehe. I took one look at it and knew it had to be richard Corben. I was (and still am) a big corben fan, back to the early days of Heavy Metal Magazine, where his Den series rocked the house.
For the record, he did do the bat out of hell covers as well, NOT Ed Lee. This is Corben brought to an entirely new pants wetting level. Completely awesome stuff.
Corban? How big a Corban fan are you? He is a great artist but this is not a Corban piece. I agree with Jeff, this must be Boris (it looks a bit 'off' to be Bell).
I went out to Boris and Julie's web site (http://www.imaginistix.com/) and sent them an e-mail (via the e-mail link) and asked them the following question;
"Is the Aquateen Hunger Force poster a poster that Boris drew?"
I was sent the following response;
"It was done by both of us Julie and Boris"
So, yes this poster is a Boris Vallejo poster, however it is also a Julie Bell poster as well......as the artists themselves have confirmed it.
Just another confirmation that it was, in fact, Julie Bell and Boris Vallejo from another site:

Update: We received an email from Richard Corben’s official site saying Corben did NOT create the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie poster. We later received an email from Boris Vallejo’s official site confirming that the Aqua Teen Hunger Force film poster was illustrated by Julie Bell and Boris Vallejo. Glad the confusion has been cleared up.
this is also a parody of some old nintendo video game art. i forget the title of the game, however.
Can you buy the movie poster yet? Cuz I haven't been able to find it.
At the link Art D. has provided (http://www.posterwire.com/archives/2007/03/05/king-of-the-mountain/) there is a link to a few places to buy the poster. The links are at the bottom of the article.
this is obviously Boris, on style alone.
the model of the woman hugging carl is Julie herself; she models for lots of her artwork, as well as Boris's.
It's funny as hell 'cause this is totally Boris' style...80s reference complete with Neal Peart in the movie?
Corben and Frazetta have their own distinct styles. put a corben, boris (and an Julie bell) and a frazetta right next to this artwork and you'll see the difference.
i was a heavy metal kid, too, from back in the day.
I LOVE the show but the movie sucks. There are tons of characters in each scene and the plot is beyond stupid. Intro is the only good part.
