A number of English subtitled K-Dramas are now available at a huge savings for a limited time only from YesAsia.com. Some of the titles included in the special offer include: Damo, Ruler of Your Own World and my own personal favorite Sandglass. The discount on most of the titles is from 45% - 50%. Now is a great time for those who have been holding out to discover just how good Korean TV drama can be. While you're at it, be sure to check out the new Eyes of Dawn forum and the recently added Sandglass forum. The sale runs through March 31st.

Jon, I'm seriously considering getting SANDGLASS, now that YesAsia has such a super-sale BUT what's up with their not listing EYES OF DAWN on their USA website???? I can't seem to pull it up in their search box. Is this set not included in their K-Drama sale?
Douglas Roy, For fans of K-Drama who haven't caught Sandglass yet, this is the time to buy. For those who have never seen a K-drama, this is the best introduction (though it will make all the rest look worse, believe me). I watched Sandglass a year ago and considered it one of the best releases of the year, so naturally I was eagerly anticipating the release of EOD. Quite frankly, I enjoyed Sandglass much more, and that in spite the fact that I am passionate about the history of Korea and in particular the period under Japanese colonization, and I was also eager to see how they dealt with the atrocities committed by the Japanese, the Korean War, etc. Personally however, I thought it was not as strong as its follow-up, though MANY will disagree with me. There are some quibbles with the transfer of OED, notably a lack of color saturation and contrast (which improves markedly at around the halfway point), and some isolated instances of distortion of the soundtrack, none of which should be of concern to those considering a purchase. The set does have one serious flaw however -- missing subtitles on episode 16 on disc 4, which the company is looking into at the moment. Those who already purchased the set should receive replacement discs. EOD is NOT available from YESASIA America and the last time I checked, the boxset was listed as OUT OF STOCK at DVDfromKorea (which I take to be because of the defect). From a brief glance at the offerings, it looks as though the sale at YesAsia is only on K-dramas that have been around a year or more. For the record, I was not impressed with Ruler of Your Own World, but I know the series has many adherents.
You can get EOD from YesAsia, but YesAsia's search facility is really bad so it can be very difficult to find. http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/section-videos/code-k/version-all/did-2957/pid-1004596968/
Bench2020; The Eyes of Dawn IS NOT AVAILABLE at YesAsia.com North America.
OK - I forgot to specify YesAsia UK.
Thanks Jon for your feedback. Until the subtitle issue is resolved I'll probably hold off getting EOD. SANDGLASS is at the top my list to get a taste of K-drama. I'll assume there's some "kick-ass" action mixed into this drama as well.
I would wait -- $55 for 24 hours of some of the best Korean TV drama has to offer is a real bargain! Those living in N. America who simply MUST have EOD can find a Korean retailer with a 100% feedback rating selling the set at eBay for $105 plus shipping. And yes, Sandglass has lots of exceptionally well-done fight scenes.
