Now here's something fun ...
Rather than griping about the DVD experience biting into theater ticket sales the people at Jacksonville, Florida's San Morco Theatre is fighting back with a new series called The Talkies. Here's how it works. It's a two night event. On night one the film in question is screened as usual. On the second night the film is screened again, this time with the director present and providing commentary throughout. The first title given the Talkies treatment was 2000 Maniacs and they're doing it again in May as part of the Jacksonville Film Festival, this time with John Waters on hand for screenings of Polyester. The organizers have even managed to dig up some authentic Odorama cards for the screening. Um ... sweet?
Just a quick note, you misspelled "San Marco" (I used to live in Jax).
