And, although I won't directly reveal what's in the Top 10 of those films that have been voted for, I will say that all but two (including tied positions) are out there on DVD with English Subtitles already or are due incredibly soon - one or two with a possible choice of editions also, which is always nice.
We're just waiting for someone to do something obvious that we would be happy with - license and announce Takashi Miike's 'Big Bang Love, Jeuvenile A' for a subbed release somewhere, and for the R1 USA DVD of 'Tokyo Zombie' to actually appear, because that would be the first subbed release anywhere also.
Anyway, as well as trawling through that list, it's always worth going back through their archives for previous years votes and writers opinions as there's always more than a few things in there that even the most dedicated fans could have missed...

Pretty crappy year for Japanese movies when 'Swing Girls 2' wins the voting poll.
I've watched 20 times more classic j-movies this year then current stuff.
I'm hoping no r1 company will waste their efforts on Big Bang Love and license Scars of The Sun instead which is a rare return to form for Miike.
But given the yaoi fad right now I know i'm just getting my hopes up for the latter.
A little OT but on the subject of Miike, his classic movie 'Peanuts!' has been released on r2j dvd and would make another good pick up.
