The movie stars Sara Langebæk Gaarmann as Lulu, Lucas Munk Billing as Sylvester, Lasse Borg as Oliver, Nicolaj Kopernikus as Richard, Anette Støvelbæk as Beate, Lars Mikkelsen as the Necromancer, Anders W. Berthelsen as Herman Hartmann, and Beate Bille as Linea.

Here's a synopsis for Island of Lost Souls from the website of the Danish Film Institute (Det Danske Filminstitut) - "DFI" for short: "14-year-old Lulu moves to a small provincial town with her mother and younger brother. One night her brother is struck by a beam of white light - actually the spirit of Herman Hartmann from the 19th century. To her despair, Lulu realizes that Herman has possessed her brother, and the two of them are whirled into a fevered adventure. They are joined by Oliver, a rich kid, and Richard, a disillusioned clairvoyant and inventor. Together, they take on the dark, supernatural forces gathering over the town - the evil from deep in the land of the dead, which seems determined to take over the world and see them die."

Why does this remind me of Warriors of Zu Mountain?

I don't know if this will be good or not but it does seem to have some nice ( if derivative) visuals going on and that's what's pissing me off. It's from Denmark, VIY and WOLFHOUND from Russia both look very cool, THE HOST was from Korea, THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE, PAN'S LABYRINTH -Mexico. SEVERENCE,DOG SOLDIERS, THE DESCENT, SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ all from England. If these countries can produce stuff that kicks ass why the hell is canadian out put so lame. The last time a decent genre film came out of this country was GINGER SNAPS. Since then lame crap like DECOYS, MEN WITH BROOMS, GOOD COP - BON COP. The canadian film industry has ten times the skills required to produce something that looks equal to LOST SOULS so where is it?

I can see where your coming from. Off the top of my head, the only recent Canadian genre film I can think of is Fido, although its not really a straight up horror.
