They've already got a fantastic Asian film website, they're moving into print, they run an excellent festival and now the UK's Firecracker are moving into digital distribution. Yep, just a day after posting about new digital rental service Jaman I get an email pointing out that Firecracker are getting into the game as well. This appears to me a much smaller scale operation but the list of coming titles is an absolute godsend for people such as myself trying to see new Malaysian and Filipino films. Two titles that leap right out are Erik Matti's Pa-Siyam - my review here - and Amir Muhammed's banned film The Last Communist - Michael's interview with the director here - but there are loads more worthwhile titles in there that are very unlikely to ever receive English friendly DVD releases anywhere in the world.
