An English Trailer, Animated Storyboards and A Making of Reel From Russian Horror Viy

My, how the tides have turned on this one. The original test reels from the big budget remake of Russian horror picture Viy placed it squarely in the guilty pleasure category for me, and even that was looking a little dubious. The first proper trailer, however, was a big improvement and the second had me completely hooked.

And now we get a good amount of English friendly material. First, there's a fully English trailer for the film, quite similar to the most recent Russian language trailer with Raimi-inspired flying vines and all. Then there is an animated storyboard sequence - with English subtitles! - that may not show you the finished product but goes a long way to establishing the tone and pace of the piece. And finally, a twenty minute behind the scenes, making-of reel, though this last is Russian only.

These new reels seem to be exclusive to Filmz.ru so I'll send you to their download page, you should figure things out easily enough. You're clever. At the very least check out the trailer if you haven't already ... absolute madness, in the best possible way ...
