We first wrote about Avid Liongoren's digital backlot film Saving Sally away back in September after being steered that way by Sigaw director Yam Laranas, who swears Liongoren will be one of the next talents to be snapped up out of The Philipines and introduced to the rest of the world. Largely a labor of love being put together by Liongoren and a small crew on a tiny budget whenever they can spare time away from paying projects the film is a romantic comedy revolving around a teen dreamer in a world populated largely by her own imagination.
For no particular reason at all I was moved to swing by the film's website today and, hark! Liongoren has posted a pair of new video clips since I was last there: a 2D animation test and a piece of footage with the raw scratch audio track. The man's obviously got talent to spare, here's hoping he can shepherd his film the last little way through post ...

doesn't look too bad considering the budget. my family gave up keeping up with filipino movies a while ago since most of them are just people crying a lot. here's hoping this changes that!
