26th Hong Kong Film Awards Announced Nominees

hkfa.jpgThe list of nominees for the 26th Hong Kong Film Awards has been announced. Leading out with the most nominations is Zhang Yimou's big-budget blockbuster Curse of the Golden Flower with 14 nods, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Actress. Its also a strong year for Johnnie To with both his crime drama, Exiled and Election 2, recieve a Best Director and Best Film nod respectively. In arguably Jet Li's best acting performance yet for Fearless, he earn a Best Actor nod which he won recently at the Hong Kong Film Critics Society while baby Matthew Medvedev, co-star of Rob-B-Hood, bring a whole new meaning to the word "new" as he recieve a nod for Best New Performer.

The 26th Hong Kong Film Awards will be held on April 15th.

So wait who's actually nominated for Election 2 in Best Supporting Actor besides Simon Yam? Nick Cheung Ka Fai or Eddie Cheung Siu Fai? This is perplexing.

Nick Cheung Ka Fai as per the Hong Kong Film Awards site.
Singapore's "I Not Stupid Too" was the fifth Best Asian Film nominee.
