First Still from Ekachai Uekrongtham's "Pleasure Factory"

The Thai writer/director of 2003's envelope pushing (and gender changing) Beautiful Boxer is busy working on "Pleasure Factory," which is shooting on location in in Singapore's little known red light district in Geylang Serai.

Inspired by true stories and real-life characters, Pleasure Factory aims to tell an intimate tale involving pleasure seekers and pleasure providers. The film stars Actress Yang Kuei-Mei (Eat Drink Man Woman, The Wayward Cloud) and Ananda Everingham (Thai horror film Shutter) alongside a cast found through street casting in Geylang and around Singapore.
