Word is that Terry Gilliam has recently completed a new film script with frequent collaborator Charles McKeown - he also worked on Brazil and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - and is currently looking for financing. No word on a title as of yet but the film is reportedly "the story af an immortal storyteller finding that today, his brand of fantasy isn't widely accepted any longer".
No idea if this will move ahead but it's good to see that Gilliam at least has a number of viable irons in the fire again ...
That blurb almost sounds like a description for "Baron Munchausen". Either way, more in the vein of the fantasy trilogy would be excellent. Still waiting to check out Tideland.
Note: Dunno if Canfield is reading this, but just seeing this post reminds me a lot of Imaginarium '99 -- you guys put together a really good presentation of Gilliam's work there - great discussion too.
That blurb almost sounds like he wants to remake M. Night Shyamalan's LADY IN THE WATER. Bad idea. I'd rather see his Philip K. Dick project from a few weeks ago. But yeah, good for him that he's got a number of projects in the works. Makes it more likely that one of them gets financed.
I take it like he's talking about himself.
Hahahaha, yes, I thought that sounded a bit auto-biographical too!
Sounds both narcissistic and tragically, tragically true.
