[Korean Film News] « Robot Taekwon V », Digitally Remastered

« Robot Taekwon V » (Custom).jpgA newly remastered version of « Robot Taekwon V », the 31-year-old Korean sci-fi animé, was recently released in theaters. Released for the first time in 1976, the animé, was seen by more than 180,000 moviegoers in Seoul alone, a record at the time. « Robot Taekwon V » was the first animé inspired by Taekwondo, a traditional Korean martial-art form. The film was re-released January 18 on 170 screens but did so well that four days after its release, the number of screens was increased to 185. The majority of viewers are in their thirties and harbor nostalgia for the legendary picture that they saw for the first time in their childhood in the 70s. Now, they can share the experience with their own children.
