Oh yes. Been waiting months for this to be set down for USA release. It's the feature-length addition to the 'Stand Alone Complex' TV Series I've been folloing volume-by-volume over the last couple of years or more... and it's all be said by me, my opinion, that it's just stunning. Now, I've seen mentions this is a bit of a disappointment, but I could likely find all kinds of snippets to quote to give various opinions on it - I know in my own mind for certain, that this will make that month so much more pleasurable however I feel after having seen it. There's also a Limited Edition (still no details on that, early days) and a Blu-Ray version of this too - well, I have my Wii and my PS3 now so I might just make that my first purchase on that format, especially if I manage to stick a 1080p TV in the lounge by then. Yum. [Source : Anime On DVD].

Looks pretty good but that song in the trailer almost made me throw up. I hope that kind of shitty music isn't used in the actual film. As for the Blu-Ray, one has to wonder what new ways of screwing up releases Manga Video will find with this new format...
Amen to that Caterpillar!
The first season of Stand-Alone Complex was released in a sumptuous 14-disc set in the Netherlands by A-film. this set was so good I immediately sold the UK-Manga discs and bought the Dutch set.
A-film still hasn't given any information about plans for releasing 2nd GIG the same way though, and the pain is growing daily.
So hurry up, A-film!!!
Great news! The last two series returned me to my teenage anime collecting days, along with the recent wave of Miyazaki releases, after about five years catching up on classic 'film' films! Hopefully soon I will find time to research and return to the Tenchi Muyo series that I only managed to get the first few episodes of!

It's on the OST CD so I'm assuming that it is in the film. It's the same style as the Origa tracks on the previous OST CDs. Do you not like those either?
Out of curiosity, where do you order Dutch DVDs from online? A direct link to that set would be nice too if possible.
Looking for a link for you, Tuan Jim (being Dutch, I bought mine at the store!).
Please note that this set contains 7 discs with the series in Dolby 5.1(Japanese and English) + all extras, while the other 7 discs has the series without extras but with DTS (again for both japanese and english).
Bad news is there are only Dutch subs, good news is the English dub is excellent.
Unlike many other versions (cough MANGA UK cough), this set contains no known A/V flaws.

If they can't send it to you they should be able provide you with a website which can. Cheers!
www.bol.com also ships Dutch DVD's internationally.
i hate to disappoint everyone looking forward to this, but it has to be said: this film was utter garbage. and i say that as a huge GITS fan. i love both seasons of SAC and Innocence was my favorite movie of 2004. there is , however, no getting around the fact that GITS: Solid State Society is utter garbage.
almost NOTHING worked in the film, and the animation is some of the worst so far encountered in the franchise. Add to that some absolutely ridiculous retreads of themes already explored in the original film and innocence, and youve got a complete disaster on your hands.
it's very sad indeed.
I love the First Movie titled Ghost in the Shell. Innocence was OK!
And the first Season of the series was great and the second season "the Individual Eleven Case" was even more great Ghost in the Shell. Especially the last three episodes of season two. I live in United Staes and Solid State is currently on a TBA status leaning towards a July 3rd release. I can't wait!
Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society was a perfect movie - right beside Innocence. The limited edition set is definitely on my pre-order list.
i want that movie...............
