A Trailer For Erik Matti's Rounin

rounin.jpgFilipino director Erik Matti is a big favorite around here - check our reviews of Exodus, Pa-Siyam and Gagamboy - and so we've been anxiously awaiting the first footage from his new television series Rounin for about a year now. Heavily anime inspired Rounin is a sci-fi / fantasy / martial arts piece far enough beyond the norm for Filipino television that Matti set up his own effects studio to get the looks he wanted. It's also the first ever Filipino production to be shot entirely in HD. The first trailer has appeared online and while it includes some raw, untreated footage and not entirely finished effects work it still looks pretty impressive to these eyes, even with the normal YouTube degradation of video quality. We're hoping to get some higher resolution materials for the show soon, but in the meanwhile you can check the current trailer on YouTube.

I saw the trailer. Looks like young Rayver is holding his own in stunts.
I look forward to the action sequences. That's all I probably care about from this upcoming series.

grabe,ibang iba tlaga ang imahenasyon ng ABS-CBN.isang kaganapan ito sa kasaysayan ng Philippine television.ibang iba ang ABS-CBN sa GMA.kahit anong pilit na gawin ng GMA,ibang iba ang KARISMA ng ABS-CBN.proud akong maging kapamilya....

kelan eere? malamang summer.... summer 2008! contrary to what the teaser says, it may take a while before rounin is aired... probably because some people involved with the post production don't know what they're doing...

hello,kelan po ba maguumpisa ang rounin excited na talaga po ako ,tapos naman po yung naruto bakit pinalitan na kaagad,tapos yung beet the bundel buster eh hindi panaman tapos eh tinanggal na agad,sana po ibalik nyo na yun kasi iyun lang po ang libangan kung panuorin,pls pls pls.....thanks

i really like the shows of ABS-CBN... iba talaga magmahal ang kapamilya.... kailan ito magsisimula,kaming lahat dito sa bohol ay di na makapaghintay sa dating rounin.... ABS-CBN RULES.... astig

I know ABS-CBN will make a BANG this year! via ROUNIN,I know Filipinos will LOVE ROUNIN coz most of us love ANIMAE even the old ones,especially kids.......sana gumawa pa ang ABS ng mga animae serye like ROUNIN.....Im sure magugustuhan ito ng masang Pilipino.

i was having second thought while watching rounin last night. i can't accept the fact that encantadia is better.although i'm a diehard kapailya fan but i have to be honest.some factors that made me disappoint most are costumes, the fight scenes and the settings. since the first time i saw the trailer i was already hoping that is project of abs-cbn would be successful.
