Can You Say 'Tragic Irony"? Japanese Exploitation Star Azumi Muto Killed And Mutilated.

(Posted In Random Geek Talk )

cl_poolside.jpgIn a story line that could well have been lifted from one of the pulp exploitation films she starred in Japanese actress Azumi Muto - star of one of the many direct to video Cream Lemon films, among others - was killed, mutilated and dismembered by her own brother. Her remains were discovered split between four garbage bags outside her own home January 3rd and police believe she was killed several days earlier, likely December 30th.

You can find complete details here.

Thanks to Zizzle for pointing it out.

Additional info from The Gomorrahizer: Kakeru Takamine (Azumi Mutô) was in Mikio Hirota's Cream Lemon 5 (Kurîmu remon: pûrusaido no Ami).

Wow that is just utterly insane and heartbroken. Japanese media is so close to its pop cinema that you can't tell the difference between non fiction or fiction.

I'd be willing to bet money that this will be made into a movie. Was there any information regarding her brothers "motivation" to do this?

Thanks for getting the right cover in there Gom ... couldn't find it searching for the name with the spelling I had ...

Disregard my question above. The news article provided way more details than I would have wished to know.

Indeed Caterpillar, too many details in fact. Which tools, where he hid the parts, what he used as an excuse.....damn, sick sick sick.

What is it with Japan and always dismembering the victims. Last time i was in Japan, they found body parts also.....

gruesome brrrrr

What a bizarre and senseless crime! This has been endlessly covered by Japanese media for the past week or so. I also didn't realize the connection to the "Cream Lemon" films but definitely thank Zizzle and Todd for clarifying this.

The suspect Muto Yuki claims that "social pressure" and the belittling remarks that his sister made to him were what "set him off".

Additional details can be found in this article:

I don't doubt that some opportunistic low-budget exploitation movie will come out detailing the crime but it probably won't be a direct case study but will be some sort of hyped-up "inspired by" movie like what "Tokyo Psycho" tried to do with the Miyazaki Tsutomu case.

According to the report the brother was saying"something might smell in my room but that's my dead pet shark,So It's OK"....
By the way I work for the media, and we just put all the news that's fit to print.
Nothing is wrong with the state of the nation of Japan ,and everything is just fine, there's only two more body-of-the-victim-chopped-in-pieces-murder occured this week.a horror, a horror....

This article calls her an "Exploitation Star" and implies that she was the star of Cream Lemon 5. However, according to some Japanese blogs, she is in the Cream Lemon movie for not more than a few seconds.

She doesn't use her real name in the credits, so maybe there is some confusion here about which actress in the movie was actually killed?

It's still a very sad situation.

As I noted in the addenda to the Twitch article above, Azumi Mutô's stage name was "Kakeru Takamine". Although Todd stated that Mutô "starred in" exploitation movies, I merely stated that she "was in Mikio Hirota's Cream Lemon 5 (Kurîmu remon: pûrusaido no Ami)", as she is tenth-billed (i.e., last-billed) on both the official webpage for that movie and the back cover for the Japanese rental DVD release of it (see Twitch article above for links).
