"Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41" UK R2 DVD Available For Pre-Order

Eureka Entertainment will be releasing Shunya Ito's 1972 J-sploitation classic Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41 on DVD February 19th. The film, which stars Meiko Kaji, is the second (and most highly acclaimed) film in the series, based on a popular manga by Tôru Shinohara. The release is anamorphically enhanced for widescreen televisions, comes with removable English subtitles and features the original Japanese mono audio soundtrack.

Excellent news! Now I can upgrade from the region 1 DVD from Image. The Image DVD was anamorphic, but had the subtitles burned into the print and was released before all of the films were remastered in Japan. This is one of my favorite films, so I can't wait.

It's already been confirmed that this will just be a port of the crappy Image dvd with a lower price tag then the currently OOP dvd.

The Eureka! web site says "optional English subtitles," so this not a port of the Image disc.
