DVD recommendation. Severance! Fantastic!

(Posted In Comedy DVD News Horror UK / Ireland / Australia / New Zealand )

severance.jpg This is not a review, you can read one below, but a HUGE recommendation for the new British horror/comedy Severance. I just finished watching the film on DVD and I found it to be fantastic and needed to tell somebody about it. I really didn't know much about it other than the basic plot and that the director of Creep was behind it, which I wasn't the biggest fan of but the trailer for it got my hopes up. It sports a great cast, wonderful characters that you are never sure who will be the next to go. The DVD itself is loaded with extras and is dirt cheap on Amazon so there is really no excuse not to get it.

I'm pretty wary about this, It looks quite good but the fact that its the same director as Creep doesn't fill me with confidence, I thought Creep was one of the worst films I've ever seen.

Ramen. You will positively marvel at the improvement on dispaly here from Chris Smith. I wasn't a fan of Creep either, but Severance is definitely a winner.

Bought a bare-bones dvd a couple of weeks ago and it was one of the best films of it's kind I've seen in a long time. The transitions from humor to horror are extremely well done. Will definitely buy a deluxe edition.

Fun flick. Not something I'd buy but definitely worth a rental.

Saw this back at the Frightfest - completely underwhelmed personally.

It's obviously a movie made in response to Shaun of the Dead and plays like it. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it but no where near as much as Shaun. It's like The Office outdoors but without the canny wit. Still its fun and defintely worth at least a look.
