Glory, but it's a good time to be a fan of Thai auteur Wisit Sasanatieng. His latest picture, The Unseeable has reportedly sold well around teh world, he's gearing up his martial arts picture Armful, Tears of the Black Tiger is poised to be unleashed on North American shores and - finally - an English friendly DVD release of Citizen Dog is just around the corner.
I have yet to see it listed for sale on the major sites but the Hong Kong DVD has been announced as coming January 12th. More information as we get it.
Fearless Director's Cut, World Sinks Except Japan, and now Citizen Dog? I was hoping to have a quiet January after many purchases in Decemeber, but it doesn't look like that will happen. Oh well, it was an awesome flick, I can't wait!
It would be great to see this released on region 2 dvd as i'd love to give a UK distributor business but i suppose its hard to categorise so no distributor is willing to take the risk.......shame.

I disliked Citizen Dog. Visually it was interesting, but it still looked/felt like an unsuccessful attempt at emulating Jean-Pierre's Amelie.
*Jean-Pierre Jeunet, although I suspect most visitors to this site would know which film I'm referring to.
