The official website for Takashi Miike's Ryû ga gotoku: gekijô-ban is now functional, and there's a teaser trailer for the movie on that site. (Note: Ryû ga gotoku: gekijô-ban shouldn't be confused with Takeshi Miyasaka's Ryû ga gotoku - jissha-ban, which Miike is credited as having been the integration director (sôgô kantoku) for.)
As was previously reported here on Twitch, the screenplay for Ryû ga gotoku: gekijô-ban was written by Masashi Sogo, based on Sega Corporation's PlayStation 2 game Yakuza (Ryû ga gotoku). The movie stars (listed order corresponds to order in teaser trailer) Kazuki Kitamura, Gorô Kishitani, Shun Shioya, Saeko, Natsuo, Haruhiko Katô, Saki Takaoka, Shô Aikawa, Yutaka Matsushige, Tomorowo Taguchi, Yoo Gong (Kon Yu), Ken'ichi Endô, Yoshiyoshi Arakawa (9th from the bottom), Kurôdo Maki (a.k.a. Claude Maki), and Sansei Shiomi.
Toei Company Ltd. (Tôei K.K.) is scheduled to release Ryû ga gotoku: gekijô-ban theatrically in Japan on March 3rd of next year.

The look and atmosphere feels just like the game. Hopefully this is good and they'll do the second one too.
didnt play the game, but i like miikes movie
There is a signifcant lack of new Miike movies coming out in the US. Either the Western market has become fed up with the Miike hype or the Japanese think they can ask gazillions for each piece of celluloid with his name on it.
