Glory be... Godzilla fan film 'Godzilla Zero Hour'!!!

(Posted In)

GZH-red.jpgWhile nowhere near enough a Godzilla authority I do consider myself a Godzilla fan. I'm somewhere between fanatical and head under a rock. But Franz has taken devotion just one step further. Dude has gone and is making himself a Godzilla fan film titled Godzilla Zero Hour. Franz's film will be a quadrilogy of 45 minute episodes. Everything is done by non-professionals and the creature design and effects will incorporate complete CGI, including Godzilla and Gamera. The project is already 2 years in the making and the official site just went up this week.

We here at Twitch appreciate the devotion and commitment someone has to making a fan film or getting into filmmaking professionally. But you gotta appreciate fan films for the complete creative control and rawness that they add to the world of cinema. We hope that Franz will keep us up to date on his project so we can share with everyone what he has accomplished so far.

Funny - a guy named Jun Awazu in Japana spent two years of his life making a 25-minute kaijuu eiga inspired CG animation as well. The results were Negadon: The Monster From Mars, and they've proven very popular. See: www.negadonattacks.com.

Looks interesting, this one, but I hopy Franz isn't planning to make any money deom this excercise. Toho are VERY protective of their beast.

I smell a cease and desist coming. In any event, good luck with the project, I am really psyched to see this, since Toho clearly doesn't plan on giving us a new movie anytime soon.

I hope it's going to be on YouTube.

Nope, no money from this.

Nope, no cease in desist in 2 years- we premiered the trailer at the Godzilla convention last year in front of Toho folks.

No Youtube- GZH is in HD and has studio mixed 5.1 surround. I'm not going to shaft our artists with a sloppy youtube version. It'll be up for direct Dvd download, though.

Looks good! Can't wait to see part one when it's done. I've added a link to it from fanfilms.net.

Finally godzilla and gamera do battle with each other,You should consider putting it out on dvd and turnig the mini-series in a video game.Mabey you should get in contact with toho.co so you can protect yourself from any leagel issues. This can even become a complete cgi movie.
